born before time began
Karl's first pro gig was at "Butlin's Holiday Camp" at Filey in 1956. He joined a Rock n' Roll band called "The Raiders', with Topper In 1961. He was turned on to country music in the late 60's and sang with various bands including "The Wagon" and "Threewheel" with Lofty. He also worked as a solo artist and sang backing vocals for several American country stars. He met up with Topper again and with Pete for the first time in 1969 and sang with an offshoot NYPL called "Sid and Bert's Thrift Club". He toured with Freddie Starr for 17yrs appearing on several of his Rock n' Roll albums and TV shows as a backing vocalist. At a NYPL reunion in1995, he was invited to join them in the recording of the album "Take Some Music" and he just stayed on, as they say and been there ever since.
One of Karls flyers during his quest for stardom as a solo artiste. According to those shoes, it must be around 1976. He's still playing his faithful Fylde Rylander. Guitars don't change their garb, only people.
Karl worked and tripped the light fandango with Freddie for 17 years
